Now this is a rare achievement of mine…I actually managed to complete a DIY task that I saw on Pinterest! As you may know from experience, a Pinterest minute is equivalent to about 15 real minutes so it is all a little bit too easy to get sucked in to the likes of the DIY section. I found this pin below which summed up just how proud I was of myself.
And now to why you are here…the phone case. So as I said, I originally saw this idea on Pinterest which I thought was genius and a cheap way to make something very pretty. If you are anything like me, I like to change my phone case regularly so this was perfect.
- some patterned card
- one sheet of any card for a template
- a pencil
- a clear phone case suitable for your device
Step 1: Take your phone and draw around it with a pencil onto the plain card allocated for the template.
Step 2: Cut it out as neatly as you can and then place it onto the patterned card.
Step 3: Draw around the template onto the patterned card and then cut it out.
Step 4: Check the fit and trim it if necessary. Draw around the camera hole which shows through the gap in the case, so you are left with an outline which you can cut out.
Step 5: Pierce a small hole in the centre of the outline for the camera. Then gently cut around the edges.
Step 6: Place in your phone and you’re done!
I really love this and the great thing about it is that you can use the template again and again with a different pattern so you have an everlasting supply of phone case designs! As well as paper, you can print designs from the internet and use them.
Let me know if you have a go at this very chic but simple DIY!
